ID finishing touches

Posted on

Way back in December 2007 I asked for a somewhat unique Christmas present. All I wanted was a cute medical ID bracelet (so that I would be motivated to actually wear it). I think I succeeded. Look how bright and shiny it was.

After three and a half years, it has seen better days. The bracelet has held up extremely well to 24/7 wear and tear. The chain is still intact and all the clasps are as good as new. The only sign of wear is all the scratches I managed to build up on the tag.

When I was in New York this summer, my uncle offered to give the bracelet a bit of a makeover. He couldn’t get rid of the scratches, but he had another idea.

what is going on here? Here was the first step. Any ideas what is happening?

deciding on a fontI spent the most amount of time during the process deciding on exactly which font I wanted.

Comic Sans

were the first ones eliminated.

tracing the designThen we traced out the design to make sure everything was lined up.

almost finishedHe went over the design a few times to give it depth.

What do you think?

  2. I think the scratches give it character. 🙂 Looks great!

  3. Cool stuff! You and your uncle should start up a business making these commercially. You could call it “Bolus Bling”! 🙂

  4. Love it! it’s a unique touch.
