What do Wii need?

Posted on

My mom got my niece and nephews a Wii for Christmas (don’t worry, they don’t read this). I am getting them a second controller and I think my mom mentioned heading back to the store for MarioKart. What else do they need to be completely spoiled by us?

P.S. Yes, I am supposed to be studying for my Greek final, but my brain is on overload!

  1. We have a Wii, and I don’t use it so much – mostly because there just aren’t enough hours in the day. We have a Fit, and one of these days I’m going to get off my butt and use it…. one of these days. We haven’t bought anything else, but if we did, I think the steering wheel would be a good addition. We had fun playing the tennis game too, so maybe the rackets.

Jason uses a game subscription thing – like NetFlix, but for games. That’s been a good buy because he can try a bunch of games without having to buy them. I think it saves us money in the long run since those games are so expensive. Plus, he’s played ones he decided he didn’t care for so much, and he just sent them back. Better that than wasting $60 – or however much the games are.

  2. I am an ultra Wii geek. So here are my thoughts.

The Wii your mom got will have one Remote and one nunchuk. I would buy them Wii Play (its a game that has 9 mini games that are pretty fun) which comes with a free remote (should be 49.95) and then you can buy one nunchuk (should be 19.95). that would be enough for the two of them to box and play any games.

LeeAnn is talking about Gamefly and I cannot recommend it enough. We have rented games, liked them so much that you can keep them, they sell it to you at a discounted price, and they send you the instruction manual and case free of shipping charges. I love this because my only fear in buying a used game is making sure it works. If you are playing it then you know it does. So I guess what I am saying here is GAMEFLY=AWESOME.

I am not a fan of tennis rackets or baseball bat attachments because that is just something else to fly off and smash into something. Not to mention they will probably use it 3 times and realize what a pain it is to put on and just play the games with the remotes.

Mario Kart comes with one steering wheel. If you get an extra one (still requires that remote) make sure you get a Nintendo one and not a third party one. In my experience, the third party one does not allow the remote to work properly.

Okay, I have gone overboard, but hey, you did ask right?

  3. Greek? What are you studying Greek for? Or did you mean your Geek exam? 🙂

Καλά Χριστούγεννα και Ευτυχισμένο το Νέο Ετος σε σας.

  4. No, I really meant Greek. 😀

But I am only in Greek 1, so some of your sentence is beyond me. Let me work on it a minute.

  5. I believe it is Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

P.S. I am learning Biblical Greek not modern Greek so really I had no chance on this translation since it is not in the Bible. 😀

  6. I don’t have anything to contribute in a Wii sense, but the snow on your blog is AWESOME!!!!

  7. Cool Biblical Greek, that should make the New Testament even more interesting.
